Here are a bunch of pictures from Teri and Kevin's wedding.
Grandpa and most of the girl cousins.

The girls had so much fun dancing. They were dancing with every bridesmaid.

Hem I C Hickey Y

What? Wondering what that says. Say it fast. M I C K E Y!! One of the girls' favorite cds in the car right now is the Mickey Mouse CD. It has some really random songs on it. But most are Disney character ones. The first song is the Mickey Mouse song. So, without knowing they are trying to spell out Mickey Mouse, they started saying it as a word, "Hem I C Hickey Y". It's so hilarious. I quickly tried to tell them which letters to say instead. It's a little weird hearing your kids say hickey.

Singing at Coffee Break went great. It was a little chaotic though. Nothing like making a million last minute changes. But it all worked out and was a wonderful night. It was so fun performing again. On a similar note, choir has been going good. It's so strange being so acclimated so fast. We are trying out for the "Candlelight" choir for Disneyland and started taping last night. Since last night was only the 2nd night of choir for me it was a little strange to be expected to be perfect so fast. Normally you get a little bit more time to get it right. So, last night we started singing a song that we have to record. Last night was the first time I had ever heard this arrangement of this well known song. So, the words were easy, but knowing which notes was different. So, I went from straight reading the song to recording it all in one night. AHHH! Thankfully I learn music fast. We still have one more night of recording (next Thursday). The hardest part is learning the french in one song. Yes, that's right, FRENCH! I haven't really ever done french before. Not that much anyway. It has been interesting. The Candlelight performance is December 7th. I am soooo hoping that Courtney's school doesn't do their choir performance that day. They did last year, which is why we didn't go to Disneyland to watch the choir last year. Also, Courtney's choir at church might be performing that weekend too. Ahh..I guess we'll figure it all out when it happens. I really don't want to miss either of her performances. But by being in the recording for Disneyland. I'm essentially signing up for rehearsals and the actual performance. I really hope it doesn't conflict.

I can't believe I haven't written about this. My sister in law is pregnant!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited to be an aunt and uncle to their new little one. They just found out she's having a GIRL!!!! So, the girls will have a little playmate whenever we see them. She's naming the baby Isabella Marie. Immediately I thought of Twilight and the main character's name is Bella. Heidi and I even both were thinking the same thing and were talking about it last night.

Speaking of Heidi. Please pray for her. She had surgery yesterday on her foot because she broke and dislocated it pretty badly.

It's so cute when the kids get excited to see their friends. Today Courtney was so excited that she gets to see Charis today. Charis is a friend from school. They only see each other on Fridays since they go different days of the week. Skyler moved to the Sunbeams room in church and we both thought of the fact that that was the room where Courtney found her best friend. We keep asking Skyler who she is playing with and if she has any special friends. She says yes, but doesn't tell us who. So, either she doesn't understand and is just agreeing with us. Or, she does have a good friend. It's exciting to see them picking their friends. So cute.

Scott would be proud of me for including this next part. The Dodgers are the National League West Champs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woho! GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!! We're so excited. The second song on the Mickey Mouse cd has been dubbed the "Dodger song". It's "Take me out the the ballgame". They were listening to it yesterday in the car and Skyler says "Go Dodgers!" Then Courtney says something about the Angels and I say, "Courtney" in a questioning tone. Then Courtney says, "But I said Boo Angels." Then I joyfully said, "Oh, ok Courtney. I couldn't hear you." I was proud. Scott was proud when I told him too. Wouldn't it be awesome if the Angels and Dodgers played each other?? I think so. It would also be cool if the Red Sox and Dodgers played each other because Manny would be playing against his old team. But the Dodger Angel match up would be awesome.

September is almost over

I can hardly believe that September is almost over. Then comes Halloween and before you know it it's the Christmas season already. I feel the need to blog today but don't really know what to say. I guess I can start off with what's going on in our household.

School is in full swing and Courtney is loving it. She started back like nothing had happened. Nothing had changed. It was like she didn't have a summer break. This is very good. She's having a blast and is always telling me something new that she knows or has learned. It was so funny when one day she told us that we have a skeleton inside our bodies. They have a book about anatomy that shows all of the muscles and bones and all. She was telling us all about it. On Monday she came home telling me with the cutest little smile on her face that Miss Hare was funny today. I tried to get it out of her what she did that was so funny, but she wouldn't tell me.

Skyler loves to read. She will bring books to me or Scott all the time to read them. She loves it. Speaking of reading, Courtney has started to read a little bit. She is sounding out words and coming up with what they are. She read a sentence once after sounding it all out. We were so proud. She knows several words by sight now too.

I started back in choir. (The big choir.) I kept hearing them sing and wondering why I wasn't up there with them. So many times I knew the exact song they were doing (arrangement and all) so I would be quietly singing to myself in the crowd. So, I went back and am very excited about it. I love going to the big choir because it challenges me. It is so fun to try new songs and challenge my voice to do what the director is asking. I'm a first soprano so it forces me to practice my higher ranges. I'm actually singing at Coffee Break tomorrow night with church. It starts at 7pm in the Worship Center at WACC if anyone is interested in going. It's a free event and you get to have some coffee or tea and a dessert. Worship to music and then hear a testimony. It's always a wonderful time. The choir is trying out for the Disneyland choir. They made it last year and got to perform in the 800 person choir there. We are recording a song in 2 weeks.

MOPS started up again. We have re-shuffled all of the tables so we have brand new people at every table. It's fun getting to know people better and some new ones too.

Ok, more later...my mom's here.

Courtney's Audition

Holy moly. What a whirlwind of emotions it's been today. Here I thought we had a day to do pretty much nothing. (Well, besides the normal stuff. You know what I mean.) WRONG! Courtney's Agent called wondering if Courtney was free today to do an audition. She was definitely free. lol So I called a few people to see if someone could watch Skyler while we went. It was in the middle of when Sky would be sleeping. I suppose she could have slept on the way there though. But they have told us before that it's better if the siblings don't come. However, when we got there, there were several other siblings. hmm

We drove up to North Hollywood. Seemed more like Universal City though since it was literally a few buildings from the parking lot of Universal Studios. We went in and signed in. The audition was for a "Cranium" commercial. There was one spot for the 4 year old girl for the family that would be in the commercial. While we were there, there were at least 6-7 girls her age. Let alone anyone who came later or earlier. I'm not sure if they are casting for background people too, since it's a beach setting.

It was a nice first time experience. I was hoping it wasn't going to be like a cattle call for this casting. But thankfully it seemed to be only for people who had scheduled it through their agent. I'm assuming this since we had to write who her agent was when we signed in.

So, Courtney went in with 3 other girls for their audition. She has absolutely no problem doing this since she has had all of this experience auditioning for agents at her school. So, that was good experience. She told me after what all happened. She said that they had to say their name. Then they had to act surprised. Then they put each one of them on camera to see how they reacted, I'm assuming. She LOVES it when they do this. She hams it all up and it's so cute. They have a screen facing them so that they can see themselves. She showed me what she did to the camera, and that's exactly what she always does. (Which is funny and cute.) So, I'm assuming it went really well.

At the very least it was good experience to have an audition outside of her "tv class". Different setting and all. She has had 2 auditions for Nickelodeon before, but they came to her school for those. So, it's kinda a first. Well, first since she had an agent anyway. :)

It was over so fast. Here I brought stuff for her to do while we were there because I wasn't sure how long it would take. It was like 5 minutes before we were called and like 5 minutes of the actual audition. So, we wait now. Not holding my breath though. I have heard from several people that it could be a while to get one. And just basing it on the fact that there is 1 spot..it's highly unlikely. But still a fun experience. Who knows when it will be her turn?

School Started, changes

Courtney had her first day of school yesterday. She has Miss Hare and Miss Taylor in the Green Room. They have Miss Taylor (assistant teaching) because the class is a bigger one. Courtney's at Whittier Christian Preschool at the Maybrook campus.

She said she had a great day. She seemed to be right back into the swing of things. She normally doesn't say all that much about her day at school, but today she told me about singing songs, playing inside, playing in the rock garden as she calls it, and just being excited to be with her friends.

It's amazing how many people we know from her new class. Joshua (her cousin) is in her class, Charis (her best bud at school) is there, Sami (Samantha), and Megan from her old class. She has some new friends to the school that we already knew too. My good friend Denise's little boy Owen is in the class too. Several other MOPS moms started their kids there too, but aren't in her class. It's so fun seeing so many parents and kids that she knows and we know. Also, her cousin Madison is coming to school here too now and is in a different room. It's so cute to see them all play together.

Speaking of changes to classes, the girls are switching classes at church. Courtney's skipping a class (which they normally do at one time or another due to ages) and she is going to be in the same class as Kate this time!!!! WOHO! That's huge. This is her very best friend and she couldn't be happier that she will be able to be with her during sunday school as well as when they are on the play ground. Skyler won't be skipping a class this time (but probably will next time). She's on the border of the classes, so she could have been put in either one. So, she'll be the oldest in her class.

Sky had her last gymnastics class on Wednesday while Courtney was in school. She had so much fun and she worked hard. All fun though. She did so good. All of the other kids started school, so Skyler was the only one there. It was cute to see her improving so much with the right help.
